The Columbus Messenger Company was founded in 1974. Publisher Phil Daubel oversees an operation consisting of five newspapers with a total circulation of 90,600. The newspapers are printed bi-weekly and include locally focused hard news, feature stories, photos, columns and community calendars as well as local display and classified advertising.

The Eastside Messenger covers Reynoldsburg and Truro Township with a circulation of 14,174. The Madison Messenger covers Madison County with a circulation of 14,545. The Southeast Messenger covers Canal Winchester, Groveport and Madison Township with a circulation of 20,541. The Southwest Messenger covers Grove City, Urbancrest, Harrisburg, Jackson Township and Pleasant Township with a circulation of 20,596. The Westside Messenger covers Franklin Township, Prairie Township and parts of west Columbus with a circulation of 20,744.
